Learning To Live Beyond Your Doubts

Even in our moments of doubt and uncertainty we can trust God to overcome the challenges of life. Holding on to His promises for our life even when the circumstances around us prove otherwise.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Mark 11:22-23 NKJV

In this video, Dr Robert Morris shares the story of Abraham and Sarah, their life journey is a testament to the fact that, as humans, we make mistakes, doubt, and sometimes falter on our spiritual paths. However, it also serves as a powerful reminder that God’s divine plan is not deterred by our human shortcomings.

According to Pastor Robert Morris, we can learn these three things from the life of Abraham and Sarah.

God Is Fun

The story of Abraham and Sarah begins with laughter. Sarah laughed within herself when she heard God’s promise of bearing a child in her old age. This laughter of doubt eventually transformed into joy as Isaac, whose name means “laughter,” was born. This reminds us that God has a sense of humor and can turn our moments of doubt into opportunities for laughter and joy. Even in our skepticism, God’s plans can surprise us with the unexpected.

God Is Faithful

Despite Abraham and Sarah’s wavering faith and moments of deception, God remained faithful to His promises. The divine plan to make Abraham the father of a great nation unfolded as Isaac was born. This reaffirms the unchanging nature of God’s faithfulness. Even when we falter in our beliefs, God’s promises remain steadfast. He fulfills His word, showing that His faithfulness transcends human imperfections.

God Is in Control

The phrase “at the appointed time” resonates throughout the narrative of Abraham and Sarah. It serves as a reminder that God is the ultimate orchestrator of our lives. Despite our doubts, mistakes, and attempts to manipulate situations, God’s timing prevails. He is in control of our destinies and will bring His plans to fruition when the time is right. This encourages us to trust in His divine wisdom and sovereignty, even when our human understanding falls short.
