Wisdom For Living

The book of Proverbs in the Bible is full of wisdom for daily living. The lessons from the Bible transcends culture, geography or age. Very relevant to everyone everywhere. Wanted to share a few of those I have discovered with you.

Love and Loyalty

Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.

Proverbs 3:3-4 (NLT)

Secret to living in abundance

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Proverbs 3:9-10 (NLT)

God sees it all

For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.

Proverbs 5:21 (NLT)

Gather in the summer

A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

Proverbs 6:10-11 (NLT)

Don’t do what the Lord hates

There are six things the Lord hates—no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NLT)

Be careful with words

A person who talks too much gets into trouble. A wise person learns to be quiet.

Proverbs 10:19 (NLT)

Good people know the right things to say, but the wicked say things to make trouble.

Proverbs 10:32 (NLT)

Learn from your mistakes

Criticize a person who is rude and shows no respect, and you will only get insults. Correct the wicked, and you will only get hurt. Don’t correct such people, or they will hate you. But correct those who are wise, and they will love you. Teach the wise, and they will become wiser. Instruct those who live right, and they will gain more knowledge.
Wisdom begins with fear and respect for the Lord. Knowledge of the Holy One leads to understanding.

Proverbs 9:7-10 (NLT)

If you refuse to learn from your mistakes, you will be poor, and no one will respect you. If you listen when you are criticized, you will be honored.

Proverbs 13:18 (NLT)

I recommend you read and study the Book of proverbs on your own. I am confident the Lord will show you more than I have mentioned here. God will especially help you discover truths that you need to live a great big life.
