This thing called life

This thing called life

I was at the library the other day and saw a young girl, about 10 or 12 years old struggling to finish her homework. She had tried it once and the answers were wrong which meant she had to start over. Tears rolled down her eyes, tears of frustration and disappointment. I heard her mum encouraging her, “its your work to do and learn darling, I’m sure you will get it if you try again one more time”.

Have you ever tried completing a project and you experienced lots of frustrations? I know I have several times. Over the years I have come to understand that such is life; we try and fail, we try and succeed but in all we learn and grow wiser every step of the way. We learn if we allow our success and failure to teach us. God makes all things beautiful in its time.

We can borrow from the wisdom of Solomon

Ecclesiastes 3:11-13 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man.

So, I say “live and thrive regardless of the season of life you are in. This is a gift from God.

By the way yes, the young girl, she tried doing the homework all over again and she made it the second time. It was nice to see her beautiful smile after all.

Don’t let your failure get you down. It has only presented you an opportunity to do it again or in some cases never do it that way again.
So I say make up your mind to enjoy every season of your life.
As for me, I am determined to enjoy life putting eternity in focus.
